In the future, I will be posting on my new blog, graph-o-mat 1.0. This new blog will be solely in English, the topics will be 'Computer Graphics (2D/3D)', 'Visual FX', and 'Post-Production'. .:: graf-o-matic 2.1 ::. will be discontinued, although the contents will be available for some time (I'm still undecided, how long).

The more I think about it, the more I am convinced that it should be possible to render convincing bullet traces à la "Matrix" using ImageMagick. Imho, a combination of Distorts and Compositing should do it.

Wie ich auf der Website der fmx/08 entdeckt habe, wird Paul Debevec, der voriges Jahr leider verhindert war, dieses Jahr wie angekündigt kommen und am Montag, den 5. Mai einen Vortrag zum Thema "Realistic Acquisition of Facial Geometry, Reflectance, and Motion" (seht hierzu auch folgenden Artikel [englisch]) halten. Der Vortrag beginnt um 12:00 Uhr und findet im König-Karl-Saal (2. OG) statt.

So, das mußte ich jetzt einfach posten. Das obige Foto stammt von dem indischen Fotografen Suresh Gundappa, und auch seine übrigen Fotos sind wirklich wunderschön.

Entdeckt habe ich Suresh Gundappas Fotografien über The Thinking Blog, in dem eines seiner Fotos gepostet war, das mich sehr berührt hat. Es zeigt ein junges, HIV-infiziertes Mädchen in einem indischen Waisenhaus.

Das ist das, womit ich mich gerade beschäftige - genauer gesagt: die Spuren der Kugeln in der Luft. Nach langem Rätseln hat mich jetzt meine aktuelle Beschäftigung mit ImageMagick einen deutlichen Schritt weitergebracht. Ich vermute, daß es sich hier um eine Art Displacement-Shader handelt.
